The Institute conducts
the international scientific and technological cooperation with the leading
international scientific organizations and research institutes in the framework
of the development of scientific activities.
For this purpose, modern forms and methods of such cooperation are used:
participation in the work of international scientific organizations;
agreements and protocols of cooperation with foreign partners;
grants for joint research activities;
publication of manuscripts in the international journals;
participation in the work of international scientific forums and
seminars, working groups; exchange
of scientific and technical information.

scientific organizations.
The Institute is a member

3. Participation
in the implementation of international projects.
By the decision of the Presidium of the National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute has been designated as the
executor of a number of pilot projects under the working package No. 3 "EU-UA
aviation research knowledge transfer pilot projects" AERO-UA EU program Horizons
2020 (Horizon 2020) aimed at the strategic target support for Ukraine-EU
cooperation in the field of aviation, in which the National Academy of Sciences
of Ukraine is a member of the consortium.
At present, foreign
participants - partners of the AERO-UA project have identified the Institute as
the
executor of the following pilot projects under Work
Package No. 3:
- 3.2a "Engine health management
system", the leader is TECPAR member ITWL (Poland);
- 3.3a "Manufacturing joints", the
leader is the Fraunhofer Institute for Factory Operation and Automation
(Germany);
- 3.3b "Manufacturing Aerospace Composite
Structures", the leader is the University of Manchester (United Kingdom).

Publishing activities,
exchange of scientific and technical information and participation in the work
of international scientific forums.
The Institute publishes (since 1969) the International Scientific and Technical Journal "Problems of Strength" having six issues per year with a circulation of 320 copies. The journal is translated into English under the title "Strength of materials" and is published in the US by the Springer publishing house. It is in the international science and technology databases Web of Science and Scopus and has an impact factor of 0.522 for 2017 and takes the 8th place among scientific and technical journals of Ukraine.
The Institute exchanges scientific and technical publications (monographs, journals, preprints, copies of articles, leaflets) constantly with cooperation organizations and individual scholars from different countries, in particular, Bulgaria, UK, PRC, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, USA, Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, India, and Japan.
The exchange of scientific and technical information is facilitated by visits of foreign scientists to the Institute:
